Made exclusively in exceptional vintages from vineyards over 50 years old, this wine undergoes a rigorous aging process totaling 5 years of evolution before being released to the market. It is the most elegant and mature interpretation of Bodegas Protos, where the fruity power of Ribera del Duero yields to the finesse of a perfectly integrated aging.

4. Pairing and Serving Recommendation
International Cuisine: Ideal companion for traditional roast lamb, aged beef chop, stewed partridge, or big game dishes.
Mexican Accent: Its complexity masterfully embraces a Oaxacan Black Mole, braised oxtail with ancho chile, or meat cuts with coffee and spice crusts.
Cheeses and Cold Cuts: Very aged sheep cheeses (old Manchego) and acorn-fed Iberian cured meats.
Serving: Enjoy at 18°C. It is mandatory to decant for 60 to 90 minutes in a wide-base decanter to allow the wine to "awaken".
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How does Gran Reserva differ from conventional Reserva?
The difference lies in the age of the vineyard and the resting time. Gran Reserva is only produced in exceptional quality vintages and requires a minimum of 60 months of aging, offering much more pronounced tertiary notes (leather, tobacco, spices).
Can this wine contain sediments?
Yes, due to its long stay in the bottle and minimal filtration to preserve its properties, it is possible to find sediments. Therefore, it is recommended to leave the bottle upright for 24 hours before opening and use a decanter.
