Domaine du Castel
The Excellence of the Judean Hills
"Where the Mediterranean sun meets Bordeaux finesse. A family winery that has redefined premium wine in Israel."
Vision and High-Altitude Terroir
Founded by Eli Ben-Zaken in the late 1980s, Domaine du Castel was born from a dream: to produce wines in Israel that could compete with French Grand Crus. Located in Yad Hashmona, the winery benefits from a unique microclimate at 700 meters above sea level.
The calcareous and stony soil of the Judean Hills forces the roots of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot to dig deep. This region, recognized as one of the most prestigious Appellations of Origin (Judean Hills Quarter) in the area, imparts a minerality and tannic structure that is the unmistakable signature of the house.
