Bodega Noemía: Malbec from Argentinian Patagonia

Bodega Noemía

"The purest, most ancient, and mystical expression of Malbec: a biodynamic treasure in the heart of the Río Negro Valley."

Patagonia • Mainqué • Argentina

Patagonian Identity and Legacy

Bodega Noemía represents the pinnacle of enological elegance in the Southern Hemisphere. Founded by Countess Noemí Marone Cinzano and winemaker Hans Vinding-Diers, the winery protects a unique viticultural heritage: "franc-de-pied" Malbec vineyards originally planted in 1932, survivors of phylloxera and the passage of time.

Located in Mainqué, within our selection of Argentine wines, the winery operates under a philosophy of minimal intervention. Here, biodiversity is managed using biodynamic principles certified by Demeter International, ensuring that each bottle is a living organism that breathes the character of the Río Negro Valley.

The Terroir of Mainqué and Río Negro

The Río Negro Valley stands out for its wide thermal amplitude and constant winds, factors that allow for slow ripening and exceptional grape health, according to technical reports from the National Institute of Viticulture (INV). Alluvial soils with the presence of silt, sand, and calcareous deposits give these Patagonian wines a vertical freshness and minerality that has been acclaimed in Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.

Cult Wines: A Malbec Trilogy

• Noemía (Icon)

This is the flagship wine, hand-destemmed berry by berry. It represents the maximum expression of the ancient 1932 Malbec, a historical heritage validated by Wines of Argentina for its complexity and aging potential.

• J. Alberto

A Field Blend of Malbec and Merlot (95/5) from a vineyard planted in 1955. It is a silky red wine, fermented in concrete tanks and aged in used barrels to avoid masking the fruit.

• A Lisa

The gateway to the Noemía universe. A Malbec with small proportions of Merlot and Petit Verdot, vibrant and juicy, ideal for understanding the natural freshness of the Patagonian terroir.

Frequently Asked Questions about Noemía

What does the Demeter seal certify at Bodega Noemía?

The Demeter seal certifies that the winery complies with biodynamic agriculture standards, prohibiting synthetic pesticides and promoting the use of homeopathic soil preparations. For a detailed analysis of these regulations, consult the Biodynamic Federation.

What is the aging potential of Noemía?

Thanks to the natural acidity of the cold climate and the structure of old vineyards, the iconic Noemía wine can evolve in the bottle for more than 15 to 20 years, according to international critics such as Tim Atkin MW.
