Reichsrat von Buhl was founded in 1849 by Franz Peter Buhl in Deidesheim, in Germany's Pfalz (Palatinate) region, and is one of the country's best-known wineries. A member of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter), it works mainly with Riesling and today farms its vineyards with organic certification. As the story goes, a Von Buhl Riesling was served at the opening of the Suez Canal in 1869.
