Voskevaz Winery

Wine from Armenia

Golden Cluster • Ancestral • Authentic

"At Voskevaz, wine is not made, it is revived. Every bottle is a bridge between 21st-century technology and the mysticism of clay amphorae buried in Armenian soil."

The Resurrection of Karas in Aragatsotn

Located in the historic region of Aragatsotn, Voskevaz Winery stands as the guardian of oenological archaeology in the Caucasus. Armenia is recognized by the international scientific community, including publications by Smithsonian Magazine, as the site with the oldest evidence of wine production in the world (6,100 years). Voskevaz honors this legacy by exclusively using indigenous grape varieties cultivated at altitudes that challenge conventional viticulture.

At La Cava Shop, we selected Voskevaz for its mastery in fermenting in Karas (clay amphorae). This method allows for natural micro-oxygenation that softens the tannins of the Areni Noir grape without masking its volcanic mineral profile, a technique that is now trending in the wines of Armenia movement.

Specialty Portfolio

Karasí Collection: The Taste of Time

This line represents the pinnacle of the winery. The wines are aged in century-old amphorae, recovered from remote Armenian villages. Unlike oak, clay preserves the vibrant acidity and wild berry notes. If you are looking for a similar structure, we invite you to compare them with our premium aged red wines.

Voskehat White: The White Jewel

The Voskehat (golden seed) grape produces whites with an aromatic complexity reminiscent of mountain flowers and melon. It is the ideal companion for Mediterranean cuisine or aged cheeses. Discover more options in our collection of white wines from around the world.

Frequently Asked Questions: Voskevaz Wines

What does the volcanic soil of Aragatsotn bring to the wine?

The volcanic tuff and basalt soil gives a distinctive salinity and minerality. This, combined with the thermal oscillation of the high mountains, results in wines with exceptional freshness and superior longevity, similar to what is found in the best terroirs of Etna or the Canary Islands.

How to identify an authentic Voskevaz wine?

Each label reflects Armenian art and specifies the aging method. Wines distributed by La Cava Shop have direct traceability from the winery in Armenia, ensuring that the consumer receives the product in optimal temperature conditions. For more technical details, you can consult review portals such as Jancis Robinson.
