Mas Doix
Poboleda • DOQ Priorat • 1902 Vineyards
"The extreme elegance of llicorella: the history of Poboleda written in centenary Garnacha and Cariñena vines."
A Haven of Finesse
Founded by the Doix and Llagostera families, Mas Doix represents the most subtle and sophisticated side of Priorat. Located in Poboleda, the winery benefits from a cooler microclimate thanks to the protection of the Montsant mountain range and the influence of the Gregal wind. Here, viticulture is an act of preservation: Garnacha and Cariñena vines that survived phylloxera and today yield grapes of a depth unattainable for younger vineyards.
Llicorella
The carboniferous slate soil of Priorat is responsible for that mineral tension and ferrous freshness. Geologically, llicorella forces the roots to seek nutrients in deep layers, resulting in a velvety texture and a vibrant acidity that guarantees legendary longevity.
Gravity and Purity
The winery uses a gravity-flow system to avoid mechanical stress on the grapes. Each berry is meticulously selected to ensure that only the purest essence of Priorat reaches the French oak barrels, following high-end standards validated by critics such as The Wine Advocate.
Cult Wines
Les Crestes
Vibrant and direct. An ode to Priorat's red fruit with just the right mineral touch, frequently highlighted in the Guía Peñín for its excellent value for money.
Salanques
Complexity and elegance. 70-year-old vines that offer a masterful balance between structure and fluidity, a favorite among sommeliers of Decanter magazine.
Doix (1902)
The pinnacle. A meditation wine born from centenary vines, with a finesse that defies the region's power and achieves historic global scores.
"At Mas Doix we don't make wines; we protect an ancient landscape. Each bottle is a time capsule of Poboleda's slate."
