ISOLE E OLENA
GRAN SELEZIONE
DOCG • TUSCAN EXCELLENCE • SINGLE ESTATE
"The aristocracy of Chianti Classico: an old-vine wine that captures the noblest essence of Castellina."
The Pinnacle of Selection
Isole e Olena's Chianti Classico Gran Selezione is the result of a tireless pursuit of perfection. While the standard Chianti Classico is the house's signature, the Gran Selezione is its masterpiece. It comes from the highest and stonier parcels of the estate, where Sangiovese develops a thick skin and monumental aromatic concentration. With extended aging, this wine achieves a perfect harmony between ripe red fruit and tertiary notes of forest and spices, positioning itself as one of the most elegant red wines in all of Italy.

frequently asked questions (FAQs)
Why is it more expensive than a standard Chianti Classico?
Due to the strict selection of old vines, low yields per hectare, and the prolonged aging time in the winery before release.
How long can it be aged?
Isole e Olena's Gran Selezione has an aging potential of 15 to 25 years if kept in optimal cellar conditions.
Is decanting necessary?
Absolutely. As a wine of great structure and long aging, decanting it for 60-90 minutes will allow the tertiary notes to fully express themselves.
