SOLENGO
ARGIANO TUSCANY 2020
ARGIANO WINERY • SUPER TUSCAN • ITALY
"The solitary wild boar of Montalcino: a force of nature where French power merges with the untamed spirit of Tuscany."
The Expression of the Untamed
Solengo 2020 is the result of a bold vision initiated by the **Argiano** winery in the 90s. Originally created by legendary winemaker Giacomo Tachis, this wine comes from the warmest plots on the Montalcino estate. By moving away from Sangiovese to embrace international varieties, Solengo offers an opulence and chromatic depth that place it among the great red wines of the world. It is a wine of great structure, but with the finesse and balance that only the Argiano *terroir* can impart to these grapes.

4. Food Pairing and Recommendations
Cuisine: A wine of this magnitude demands intense dishes: wild boar in red wine, prime grilled cuts of meat, spiced lamb, or very aged cheeses. It is the ideal companion for haute cuisine with powerful reductions.
Serving: Decanting for a minimum of 1 to 2 hours is recommended to allow the aromas to expand. Serve at **18°C** in large-bowled glasses.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS)
What scores does the 2020 vintage have?
Solengo 2020 has been consistently rated with high scores (95-97 points) by James Suckling and Robert Parker, highlighting its balance and imposing presence on the palate.
Is it a wine to drink now or to age?
Although it is magnificent today with decantation, Solengo is a wine designed for aging. It will evolve spectacularly over the next 15 to 20 years in a cellar.
Why isn't it a DOCG?
By using varieties like Merlot and Cabernet in Montalcino, the wine falls outside the DOCG Brunello regulations (which require 100% Sangiovese), entering the IGT Tuscany category, which allows the winery to create this international-style blend.
