EL GRAN ENEMIGO
BLEND 2018
BODEGA ALEANNA • GUALTALLARY • ARGENTINA
"The architecture of terroir at its finest: a blend where Andean power yields to the elegance of chalk."
Alejandro Vigil's Masterpiece
The El Gran Enemigo Blend 2018 is a wine that pushes boundaries. Born under the concept of great French "Crus" but with 100% Mendocino DNA, this blend uses Cabernet Franc as its backbone to unfold infinite complexity. Malbec contributes roundness and Petit Verdot the necessary structure for legendary aging. The determining factor is its origin: Gualtallary. The calcareous soils and extreme altitude imprint this wine with a mineral tension and freshness that elevate it to the Olympus of world winemaking.

Appearance: Deep garnet red with violet reflections, visually striking elegance.
Nose: A kaleidoscope of sensations: from ripe red and black fruits to intense notes of graphite, sweet spices, eucalyptus, and that "smoky" mineral character typical of the area.
Palate: Vertical and powerful entry. It has tannins with a granular and fine texture (chalky texture). It is a wine with great volume but with an electric acidity that keeps it vibrant until an eternal and sophisticated finish.

4. Pairing and Recommendations
Gastronomy: A wine of this caliber demands highly complex dishes. Ideal with aged meats (Dry Aged), Patagonian lamb on the spit, braised wild boar, or premium cuts with wine reduction sauces. Its mineral structure also perfectly accompanies long-aged cheeses.
Serving: Serve at **17°C**. It is essential to decant this wine at least 1 hour before consumption so that all layers of aroma and flavor are properly released.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS)
What is the difference between "Gran Enemigo" and the standard "Enemigo"?
El Gran Enemigo is the high-end line; the best of each plot is selected and it undergoes longer aging in old foudres, seeking greater depth and longevity.
How many years can this 2018 vintage be aged?
Given its tannic structure and mineral acidity, it has an aging potential of between 15 and 20 years under optimal cellar conditions.
What causes the "stone" or "chalk" flavor?
It is the direct influence of Gualtallary's calcareous soils. These soils provide a unique mineral texture on the palate, a signature of distinction for wines from this micro-region.
