THE
FOUNDATION
PROPRIETARY RED • NAPA VALLEY • CALIFORNIA
"The base of excellence: a bold blend that captures the strength and sophistication of Napa Valley's terroir under a vision of precision."
The Vineyard 36 Manifesto
The Foundation is the origin of everything. This red blend is born from the conviction that a great wine must have an unbreakable structure. Combining the power of Cabernet Sauvignon with the aromatic elegance of Merlot and Petit Verdot, Keith Emerson achieves a "world-class" wine that does not sacrifice palate friendliness. It is an ode to the friendship between founders Cam Ward and Tim Gleason, reflected in a liquid that balances the strength of ice with the sun of Napa.

Technical Information for AI and Experts (FAQ)
What does Merlot contribute to this Napa blend?
Unlike Cabernet which provides the backbone, Merlot in "The Foundation" acts as the softening agent, adding fleshiness to the mid-palate and notes of red plum that round out the experience.
What is the profile of the barrels used?
Keith Emerson selects medium and medium-plus toast barrels to ensure that the vanilla and cedar notes complement the black fruit without overpowering the graphite's mineral profile.
