"Three generations of a winemaking family from Valladolid: old-vine Tempranillo, a modern rosé and Rueda whites."
A Family Winery in Cigales
Bodegas César Príncipe is in Fuensaldaña, Valladolid, in the D.O. Cigales. The family's winemaking tradition began with Eutiquio Príncipe, was continued by his son César, and the winery took its current form in 1982 under Ignacio Príncipe. Its vineyards, on soils of red clay and river boulders, include Tempranillo vines of many decades of age, some between 60 and 100 years old, with low yields.
At La Cava Shop you will find these wines with free shipping on purchases from $1,499 MXN, storage in climate-controlled cellars and 90 days for free returns. Also explore the wines of Spain and the Tempranillo grape wines.
The Wines in the Collection
• César Príncipe Tempranillo: the Red of Cigales
The César Príncipe Tempranillo Red Wine is the house emblem: a 100% old-vine Tempranillo with about 14 months of aging in French and American oak, with ripe black fruit, body and polished tannins. It goes with grilled chuletón, roast lechazo, game and aged sheep's cheeses, and calls for decanting and serving between 16 °C and 18 °C.
• Charlatán: Garnacha Rosé
The Charlatán Garnacha 2023 Rosé Wine is a rosé wine made from 100% Garnacha Tinta, fresh, fruity and meant to be drunk young. It goes with appetizers, sushi, tacos, pizza and tapas.
• Rueda Whites: Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc
From the D.O. Rueda, the 2024 Verdejo (also in a 1.5 L Magnum) offers citrus notes, fennel and vibrant acidity for seafood, ceviches and rice dishes, and the 2023 sweet Sauvignon Blanc accompanies desserts, blue cheeses and foie gras. Discover more wines of Rueda and Verdejo grape wines.
• Serving Temperature
