MARIANOVA
2019

BOLGHERI SUPERIORE DOC • MICHELE SATTA

"The pinnacle of a dream: a single-vineyard masterpiece that redefines the absolute elegance of Tuscany."

🇮🇹 ORIGIN: BOLGHERI, TUSCANY, ITALY | 🍇 SANGIOVESE & SYRAH | 🍷 WINERY: MICHELE SATTA

The Purity of Terroir

The Marianova 2019 is the most sublime interpretation from the **Michele Satta** winery. It comes from a small vineyard selected for its unique clay and pebble soil, where Sangiovese and Syrah achieve a perfect symbiosis. Unlike other Bolgheri Superiore wines that aim for Bordeaux power, Marianova chooses the path of finesse and spiritual depth. With a respectful aging of 24 months in large oak barrels, this wine is a declaration of love for the land, offering a sensory experience where fruit and minerality are inextricably intertwined.

1. Identity Profile

Specific Origin: "Marianova" plot, Castagneto Carducci, Bolgheri.

Winery: Michele Satta.

Composition: 50% Sangiovese, 50% Syrah.

Aging: 24 months in 500-liter oak barrels (puncheons) and long bottle evolution.

Production: Limited collector's edition.

Volume: 750 ml.

2. Sommelier's Notes

Appearance: Deep ruby red, clear and brilliant.

Nose: An ethereal and complex perfume. Notes of dried violets, ripe black cherry, and plum, followed by a fascinating layer of fine spices, incense, white pepper, and a clear saline mineral streak.

Palate: The entry is overwhelmingly elegant. The tannins are like lace: present but incredibly soft. The freshness of Sangiovese unites with the spicy fleshiness of Syrah, culminating in an eternal, aristocratic, and balanced finish.

4. Pairing and Recommendations

Gastronomy: A wine of such sophistication deserves refined dishes: sirloin with truffle reduction, duck à l'orange, high-mountain porcini mushroom risotto, or feathered game meats. It is also an extraordinary wine to enjoy alone in moments of introspection.

Serving: Serve at **18°C**. It is strongly recommended to decant for at least 2 hours before serving to allow its aromatic complexity to fully unfold.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS)

Why no Cabernet in this Superiore?

Marianova is Michele Satta's bid to demonstrate that Sangiovese (the Italian soul) and Syrah (his personal passion) can reach levels of nobility equal to or superior to Bordeaux blends in Bolgheri.

What is the meaning of the name?

Marianova is the name of the specific plot, but it also evokes a sense of "new sea" or a renewed vision of what a great Tuscan coastal red can be.

How many bottles are produced?

Production is extremely limited, often not exceeding a few thousand bottles per vintage, making it one of the most sought-after wines by sommeliers worldwide.
