CEPPARELLO
2021 ISOLE E OLENA

SUPER TUSCAN • PURE SANGIOVESE • ITALY

"The perfection of the Sangiovese grape: a wine that doesn't follow trends, but defines the history of Tuscany."

🇮🇹 ORIGIN: SAN DONATO IN POGGIO, ITALY | 🍇 GRAPE: 100% SANGIOVESE | 🏺 WINERY: ISOLE E OLENA

The Supreme Expression of Terroir

Cepparello 2021 is the heart and soul of Isole e Olena. Named after a small stream that runs through the property, this wine is born from an exhaustive selection of the finest fruits from the hills of San Donato in Poggio. Under the historical vision of Paolo De Marchi, Cepparello has become synonymous with transparency: the ability to transmit the elegance of the galestro soil with almost surgical precision. In the 2021 vintage, the wine displays an electric freshness and a depth of fruit that promises legendary longevity.

1. Identity Profile

Winery: Isole e Olena.

Specific Origin: Barberino Tavarnelle, Tuscany.

Grape: 100% Sangiovese.

Vintage: 2021 (Considered exceptional).

Aging: 18-20 months in French oak barrels (a portion new).

Potential: One of the highest aging capacities in Tuscany.

2. Master Tasting Notes

Appearance: Deep ruby red, bright and crystalline, with an elegant density in movement.

Nose: An aristocratic bouquet. Pure notes of black cherry and red plum, intertwined with fresh violets, licorice, damp earth, fine leather, and a characteristic saline mineral touch of the terroir.

Palate: Majestic and vertical entry. The tannins are silky, firm but incredibly integrated. It stands out for its vibrant acidity that maintains the freshness of the fruit towards a long, complex, and very refined finish.

frequently asked questions (FAQS)

Is it necessary to decant Cepparello 2021?

Yes. Due to its youth and monumental structure, we recommend decanting it at least 2 hours before serving so that its complex aromas can be fully released.

How long can it live in my cellar?

Cepparello is famous for its longevity. A vintage like 2021 can evolve and improve over the next 20 to 30 years if stored in optimal conditions.

Why isn't it a Chianti Classico Gran Selezione?

Historically, the creator preferred to keep it as IGT to have the complete freedom to vinify it as a 100% Sangiovese of the highest quality, without the technical restrictions of the classic appellation at that time.
