ARGESE
PRIMITIVO

TENUTE GIROLAMO • AUTHENTIC PUGLIA • ITALY

"The strength of the sun and the freshness of the wind: a Primitivo that dances between the opulence of fruit and the refinement of the valley."

🇮🇹 ORIGIN: VALLE D'ITRIA, PUGLIA | 🍇 100% PRIMITIVO | 🍷 WINERY: TENUTE GIROLAMO

Tradition in Every Drop

Argese wine is one of the most honest and vibrant expressions from the **Tenute Girolamo** winery. Coming from vineyards located in Martina Franca, this Primitivo moves away from excessively sweet styles to offer a more structured and elegant profile. Careful vineyard management and controlled fermentation allow Argese to retain the characteristic freshness of Puglia's calcareous soils, making it a versatile, powerful, and deeply satisfying red wine.

1. Identity Profile

Specific Origin: Valle d'Itria, Puglia, Italy.

Winery: Tenute Girolamo.

Grape Variety: 100% Primitivo.

Aging: Rest in French oak barrels to provide softness and tannic complexity.

Classification: IGT Puglia Primitivo.

Volume: 750 ml.

2. Sommelier's Notes

Appearance: Intense ruby red with violet reflections, deep and dense.

Nose: Predominant notes of ripe red fruits such as raspberries and cherries, accompanied by subtle hints of Mediterranean spices, cinnamon, and a light vanilla note from the oak.

Palate: It is a medium-to-full-bodied wine, warm and enveloping. Its tannins are velvety, and it presents a balanced acidity that invites a second sip. Persistent finish with lingering notes of fruit in liqueur.

4. Pairing and Recommendations

Cuisine: An excellent companion to classic Italian cuisine: lasagna bolognese, roasted red meats, gourmet pizzas with rich charcuterie, and semi-cured cheeses. It also harmonizes wonderfully with grilled meats and legume stews.

Serving: Serve at **18°C** (64°F). It does not require prolonged decanting but benefits from 15-20 minutes of aeration before enjoying.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is Argese a very alcoholic wine?

As a good Primitivo, it has a generous alcohol content (typically 14-14.5%), but it is so well-balanced with its fruit intensity that the alcoholic sensation is very pleasant and not aggressive at all.

How long can it be stored?

It is a wine designed to be enjoyed at its current fruity peak, although it will keep perfectly for the next 5 to 7 years in a suitable cellar.

Is it suitable for palates that prefer smooth wines?

Yes. Despite its intensity, the Primitivo grape is known for its low astringency, resulting in a "friendly" and easy-to-drink wine from the very first moment.
