VIOGNIER EN AMONT
VINTAGE 2023

DOMAINE DE BOISSEYT • NORTHERN RHÔNE • FRANCE

"A spring perfume in the Rhône: a Viognier that balances the caress of stone fruits with the electric tension of French granite."

🇫🇷 ORIGIN: CHAVANAY, FRANCE | ⛰️ GRANITE SOILS | ✨ VINTAGE 2023

The Verticality of the Northern Rhône

Viognier "En Amont" 2023 is the calling card of Domaine de Boisseyt, one of the oldest and most respected houses in Chavanay, France. This wine is born from steep terraces where decomposed granite forces the roots to dig deep in search of identity. In the 2023 vintage, the Viognier grape displays its characteristic exotic bouquet but remains fresh and vibrant, avoiding heaviness and prioritizing a minerality reminiscent of stone wet by the Rhône river.

1. Identity Profile

Specific Origin: Hills of Chavanay, Northern Rhône, France.

Winery: Domaine de Boisseyt (Est. 1797).

Vintage: 2023.

Varietal: 100% Viognier.

Soil: "Arzelle" granite and mica schist.

Volume: 750 ml.

2. Sommelier's Notes

Appearance: Bright straw yellow with golden reflections and crystalline clarity.

Nose: Intensely floral, with notes of honeysuckle and violet. The fruit stands out with hints of ripe apricot, white peach, and a subtle touch of fresh ginger.

Palate: Smooth entry but immediately balanced by a sharp mineral acidity. It presents a silky texture and a long, fragrant finish with a saline echo.

MINERAL TENSION [ ● ● ● ● ○ ]
STYLE [ EXOTIC / CRYSTALLINE ]

4. Pairing and Gourmet Service

Cuisine: An exceptional companion for fusion and Asian cuisine (Thai or Vietnamese) thanks to its spicy notes. It harmonizes sublimely with white asparagus, baked rock fish, and soft French cheeses like Rigotte de Condrieu.

Service: Enjoy at a temperature between **10°C and 12°C**. It is recommended not to serve too cold to avoid blocking the aromatic complexity that defines French Viognier.

Technical Sheet and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why is Boisseyt's Viognier so special?

Unlike New World Viogniers which can be heavy, its French origin in the Northern Rhône guarantees vertical elegance and granitic minerality that refreshes the palate.

What is the aging potential of the 2023?

It is designed to be enjoyed for its primary freshness. It is recommended to consume it within the next 2 to 3 years to appreciate the full floral and fruity character of the grape.

Does it contain wood?

This wine is mostly fermented in stainless steel tanks and large, used wooden vats, in order to add texture without imparting oak aromas, preserving the purity of the fruit.
