The Syrah Collezione Privata 2020 is the result of decades of study in the vineyards of Isole e Olena. This is no ordinary Syrah; it is an aristocratic interpretation of the variety. Grown in galestro and limestone soils, this red stands out for its aromatic depth, combining black pepper and ripe blackberries with a mineral freshness that only the Chianti terroir can provide. Why is it called "Collezione Privata"?
Originally, these were wines produced by Paolo De Marchi for his personal consumption and that of his close friends, until their exceptional quality compelled the winery to market them in very small quantities.
Does it need aeration?
Definitely. It is a wine with a lot of structure that benefits greatly from being decanted at least 60-90 minutes before consumption to soften the tannins and open up the nose.
What differentiates it from a French Syrah?
It retains the typicity of the grape but with the luminosity and elegance of the Tuscan sun, resulting in a less austere and more enveloping wine than those from the traditional Old World.
