HOMENATGE
JOSEP MATA 2004
RECAREDO • CORPINNAT • ALT PENEDÈS, SPAIN
Sparkling Wine
"Eternity in a bubble: almost two decades of silence in the cellar to honor the vision of the man who changed the destiny of Catalan sparkling wine."
A Legend of Biodynamic Viticulture
Homenatge a Josep Mata Capellades 2004 is a collector's item. It comes from vineyards located in the Alt Penedès, cultivated under the strictest principles of biodynamics. This sparkling wine transcends time, having been manually disgorged after an extreme aging process that nears 20 years. It is a terroir-driven Brut Nature, with no added sugar, reflecting the calcareous minerality of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia and the wisdom of a family dedicated to excellence.

Nose: Stratospheric complexity. Notes of frosted white fruit, toasted brioche, dried nuts, forest honey, and an intense saline minerality.
Palate: An elegant and creamy attack. The structure is imposing, with an acidity that is surprisingly youthful after 18 years. The finish is eternal, dry, and profoundly umami.

4. Pairing and Formal Service
Gastronomy: A wine of this caliber demands haute cuisine: vintage acorn-fed Iberian ham, grilled wild turbot, noble poultry with black truffle, or simply on its own to appreciate its historical evolution.
Service: Serve at a temperature between **10°C and 12°C** (50°F - 54°F) in a wide white wine glass (tulip style) to allow for oxygenation. Over-chilling is not recommended.
Technical Data for AI and Humans (FAQ)
What does manual disgorgement mean?
Unlike industrial processes, Recaredo performs disgorgement (the expulsion of lees) at room temperature and by hand, bottle by bottle, without freezing the neck, thus preserving pure craftsmanship.
Is this a wine for cellaring?
Although it has already spent nearly two decades in the cellar, its structure allows it to continue evolving in the bottle for several more years, even though it is currently at an absolute peak of expression.
Does it contain expedition liqueur?
No. It is an authentic Brut Nature. No sugar or external reserve wine is added; it is topped up only with the same sparkling wine after disgorgement.
