GIOVIN
RE 2021

MICHELE SATTA • VIOGNIER DI TOSCANA • BOLGHERI

"The Young King: the opulence of Viognier interpreted with the elegance and rigor of the Tuscan coast."

🇮🇹 ORIGIN: TOSCANA IGT, BOLGHERI, ITALY | 🍇 100% VIOGNIER | 🍷 WINERY: MICHELE SATTA

The Reinvention of Tuscan White Wine

Giovin Re 2021 is, as its name suggests, the "Young King" of the **Michele Satta** winery. This wine breaks the mold of Bolgheri by exclusively using the Viognier grape, a variety that in Satta's hands acquires an aristocratic dimension. Cultivated in soils overlooking the sea, the grape develops an exotic ripeness balanced with a vibrant freshness. The 2021 vintage stands out for a perfect harmony between ripe fruit and the elegant structure imparted by its time in noble wood, consolidating it as one of the most prestigious and collectible white wines in all of Italy.

1. Identity Profile

Specific Origin: Castagneto Carducci, Bolgheri, Tuscany, Italy.

Winery: Michele Satta.

Grape Variety: 100% Viognier.

Aging: Fermentation and 6 months in oak barrels, followed by prolonged bottle aging.

Style: Full-bodied, unctuous, and complex white wine.

Volume: 750 ml.

2. Sommelier's Notes

Appearance: Deep straw yellow color with intense golden reflections, denoting its structure and aging.

Nose: Sumptuous and profound bouquet. Notes of ripe apricot, vineyard peach, honey, acacia flowers, and a saline mineral touch enveloped in subtle sweet spices.

Palate: Powerful and velvety entry. It is a wine with almost red wine density, but with an acidity that keeps it agile. The finish is extraordinarily persistent, with hints of exotic fruit and a very fine toasted note.

4. Pairing and Recommendations

Gastronomy: Its structure allows it to accompany dishes normally reserved for light red wines. Excellent with game birds, grilled fatty fish (such as turbot), foie gras, aged cheeses, or pasta dishes with white truffle.

Serving: It is recommended not to serve too cold to avoid masking its complexity. The ideal temperature is between **12°C and 14°C**. It is a white wine that benefits from a few minutes of aeration.

frequently asked questions (faqs)

Is this a wine that can age?

Absolutely. Giovin Re is famous for its ability to evolve. It can be aged for 5 to 10 years, developing complex notes of dried fruit and greater unctuousness over time.

What is the origin of its name?

"Giovin Re" means "Young King." It represents the idea of a wine with the nobility and presence of a king, but with the energy and vitality of youth.

What is the climate like in the growing area?

Bolgheri enjoys unique luminosity and constant sea breezes. This allows the Viognier to fully ripen without losing elegance, something difficult to achieve in other regions of the world.
